Cable unwinder: common questions

Key questions about the Cable unwinder – spools, wire and line integration.

How heavy a spool does the cable unwinder carry?

Coils up to 500 mm diameter and 20 kg. This lets you roll off large, fully loaded spools that can no longer be moved by hand.

Which material can be processed?

Cable, wire, strand, single cores and tubing. The active drive holds pulling force constant and stops spool overrun with heavy material.

For which core is the mount laid out?

For 76 mm as a series fit. Differing spool mounts are made as a special version on request.

Is twisting of strand prevented?

Active drive and tension arm balance the inertia. The spool does not overrun, and strand enters the process straight and free of loops.

Can the speed be coupled to the cut-to-length machine?

Yes. The supplied controller meters steplessly across the full range and syncs the pay-off to the cycle of the cut-to-length machine or crimping line.

Does the unwinder work in both running directions?

Yes, the running direction is switchable and follows the winding direction of the respective spool.

What does delivery comprise?

The cable unwinder is ready for service on 230 V with a powerful motor and complete control. You connect it and set it ahead of the line.

Can the unit be tied into an existing assembly line?

Yes. As the manufacturer we realise special dimensions, sturdier spool mounts and chaining with existing cutting and crimp lines in the special-machine shop.
